Using Golf Carts for Farming
If you have ever caught an episode of the old sitcom “Green Acres” then you already know what most people think about when moving to a farm. This is especially true if they have moved there from the city. Most people, unless they already have a previous knowledge of what farm life will be like, have no clue what they will be getting themselves into, especially if the farm they plan to buy is large and set on several hundred acres. Unless you are independently wealthy and will be hiring hands to do everything, there is a lot do to. Even more so if there are animals to care for.
One of the main considerations is going to be on how to get around the farm and how to transport the feed and toosl you will need to get the jobs done. Some people buy pick up trucks but they can be very expensive and may not be great at getting into smaller spaces. A new trend has emerged for using golf carts on the farm. They even make golf carts that are 4×4 now and can get over almost any terrain. In addition, used golf carts are usually a lot less expensive than pick up trucks and also run on electric so they will save you money on your fuel cost.
Most companies that sell new golf carts also sell used ones as well. You can usually get a pretty good deal on them and often can even find them being sold by owner for a decent price. Before purchasing a golf cart, make sure you have it looked at to be sure it runs properly. You would not want to buy one as is and then get home only to find it has some expensive issue that needs to be repaired.
